What is Photoperiod?

Photoperiod is the amount of time in a 24-hour period, i.e. daylength per day, in which a plant or animal is exposed to light. Many physiological processes are driven by photoperiod. Daylength data is especially important for greenhouse growers in Kentucky who need to plan crop flowering times, as flowering is a daylength-dependent process.
